I love Elena Roussakis’ illustrations for Neat & Tangled and I might have squeaked slightly when I saw this new STAMPtember exclusive set Nuts About You! I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.

Seriously how adorable are those squirrels! I love the big acorn image all ready to color that I used on this card, but I’m itching to get this set out again and color the little squirrel with the pumpkin too and that gorgeous pumpkin spice sentiment.

For this card I stamped the large squirrel image in Versafine Onyx Black on Arches cold pressed watercolor card and die cut with the matching die before watercoloring. I also stamped, die cut and watercolored the ‘Thanks A Bunch’ sentiment and mounted with foam adhesive.

For the background I repeatedly stamped and white heat embossed the acorn and little leaf images and then roughly watercolored layers of autumn color on top but leaving the centre area light and mainly free of color so the squirrel piece would still stand out. All that was left to do was die cut the background with a Stitched Rectangle, foam mount the focal point and add a twine bow and a few sequins to finish.
