The Christmas Cheer Avery Elle exclusive set for STAMPtember from Simon Says Stamp is classically beautiful combining elegant snowflakes with scripted sentiments :D I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
I wanted soft subtle snowflakes to cascade down the side of a card and so stamped lots of the snowflakes on Arches cold pressed watercolor card, white heat embossed them and then reached for my watercolors to give them just a hint of color before die cutting with their matching dies.
I mounted the snowflakes down the side of a piece of Fog card cut with a Basic Rectangle, adding double layers of foam adhesive to some of the flakes to give varying heights and interest. I tucked in a few toning sequins to embellish and at was only at this point that I contemplated where to put the sentiment. This seems to be a theme with me at the moment LOL; I get so excited about creating with the new product that I don’t think things through and plan where I want everything.
Well, vellum came to the rescue as it so often does for me. I stamped the gorgeous sentiment with Versamark ink and then white heat embossed before cutting out with a Basic Rectangle and then hiding adhesive behind the lettering and the odd sequin to attach the vellum over the snowflakes. I added the Fog panel to a Marshmallow card base to finish.
