Shaped cards are fun and shaker cards are fun too so I thought I’d double the fun with a balloon shaped shaker card! I paired a Balloon die from Simon Says Stamp with the Birthday Wishes stamp set from Mama Elephant. Now don’t fall off your chair, but I’ve got a video to share below too! I’m not promising to be back in to the swing of things fully for a few more weeks until school is back and the eldest is settled at university, but a little progress is good right?! I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
The supplies for this card are minimal; I blended Sea Glass and Lake Shores ink across a piece of white card and cut with a Balloon die before splattering with paint and perfect pearls. On a piece of Heat Resistant Acetate I silver heat embossed the sentiment from Birthday Wishes and die cut with the same Balloon die. I used my Grandmothers antique sewing machine (it passed its factory test in 1951!) to sew the two layers together with silver thread. I stopped three-quarters of the way around the balloon to push some Purely Peppermint sequins between the two layers and then completed the stitching. For the back of the card I cut another balloon, scored just slightly down from the top of the balloon and then used Ranger Multi Medium Matte to adhere to the shaker. The card then hinges from this score line allowing it to stand up :D This was a fun card for me to make and I hope you enjoy watching the video.

Oh my gosh – this looks beautiful Debby! Although my vision is a bit impaired after falling off my chair :-P
I will watch the video once it returns – lol
This is simply lovely! Soft colors and silver words. I’m swooning!
Love it. I have my mum’s old sewing machine, it’s from the early 70s and is still going strong!
Built to last :D
I loved your tutorial Debby.. you explained things so well! And my goodness to your sewing machine’s age!! I thought mine was old as it’s from the 1970’s… ! Christine x
Such a delightful shaker, Debby. Maybe it’s time I gave my SSS balloon dies a little love as well. Thanks for the inspiration!
This is such a gorgeous card. Thanks for the video and the great idea.
Is this card even there??? Looks so light and airy. Fantastic!
Such a beautiful card Debby <3 Please hurry back to making videos again, I've watched them all a few times over (between calls at work lol) and can't wait for more inspiration from you. Every single idea you share is stunning and you always explain them so well, thank you xx
Oh my goodness, I love this card and it would be perfect for our almost 4-year old twin grandchildren and our almost 5-year old granddaughter! Thanks so very much for the video too – wonderful card!
Absolutely beautiful! If you don’t have a sewing machine, do you think you could use a fusing tool?
