I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I do love a good leaf! The clean simple lines of the leaf pair from the Tropical Leaves sets my heart a patter and even though this set is intended for summer, these leaves make a great DIY wreath. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
I stamped the leaves in a Sea Glass, Frayed Leaf, Evergreen and Forest Glades Altenew inks and die cut with their matching dies. Then on a piece of Fog card I heat embossed the lovely Oh Happy Day sentiment with Antique Gold powder and die cut with a Stitched Rectangle. The Oh Happy Day set was part of the Masterpiece Box, which is now sold out, but the set will be releasing tomorrow as part of Simon’s STAMPtember release :D
It was then simply a case of adding the leaves around the sentiment with foam adhesive and dotting rhinestones and pearls to accent. I popped the panel on a card base cut from some 12×12 Bazzill card. For a while I’ve been using my old 12×12 card to create envelopes – cutting a 7.5 inch square and then scoring on the diagonals at 4 and 2 7/8 inches. While tidying up my craft space I came across all the left over strips from cutting the envelopes and I’ve folded and scored card bases. From one 12×12 piece of card you can get an envelope, card base and a panel of card too; it’s always good to get the most out of our supplies!
BUSY BUSY BUSY!
Oh my word I have such a lot to share with you over the next few days! To start with Simon Says Stamp kick off STAMPtember tonight at midnight EST. Believe me there is such a lot of fun, amazing new product, giveaways, hop etc happening to enjoy and inspire throughout the whole of September. I’ve delved in to a few of the new products and have been sneak peeking over on Instagram with cards I will be sharing later this week :D
I’ve also got projects to share for Clearly Besotted and Waffle Flower as more companies bring out their fall and holiday sets. I do love this time of year as everyone gets creating for the busiest time of the crafting year!
I mentioned before that being so busy this was perhaps not the best time to reorganise my craft space but when the planets align and new storage was an option I jumped at the chance. Here’s a peek in to my progress so far.
These are Ikea Alex draws (the 9 draw high set) with Ikea Bestå cupboards to the side and I’ve even left a handy-dandy little spot for my Råskog cart to tuck in rather than it floating around the room when not in use. When I’m finished organising I’ll need to straighten the units and fix them all together and then I want a work surface on top of the drawers to finish them off. Also the place needs a good lick of paint too and I’m still debating between a neutral or a little color :D
My space is now quiet minimal and it’s not to everyone’s taste; I think some of my family prefer the floor to ceiling open shelves I had before. However, for me, when I walk in to the room all the clean white calms me, clears my head and I am loving getting creative here. One disadvantage though is that my sweet photo spot has disappeared as I’ve moved my table configuration around so I’m now on the hunt for a new place to take my card photos.

Summary of the project which gives all the views of the card in one photo :D I’d love if you pinned and called by on Pinterest :D
Go ahead, Debby, say it a million more times, and I’ll agree with you a million more! LOve these leaves, and your design, just lovely! xx
=]
I have a thing about leaves too and can’t resist buying new leaf sets regularly! Naturally, I absolutely love this card :D The colour scheme is so calm and tranquil and the whole card looks really stylish. Your evolving craft space sounds wonderful. Enjoy! Esther
Wonderful project! I would love to see how you make your envelopes!
Thanks for showing your progress on reorganizing your craft room. My supplies are “hidden” in storage bins instead of open on shelves. I too need a “clean” space for creativity. If everything is out in view, I am overwhelmed with all the possibilities. What is funny is that when I ready to create, I “see” everything I need in the “hidden” bins.
Clean space and clear mind for me too! I don’t have trouble finding anything so having it hidden away isn’t a problem at all :D
Love this beautiful card. Simple yet elegant. And how nice that you’ve organized your craft space. Love those Ikea Drawers.
Your card is beautiful – as usual – am a big fan of your style. Your organizing looks like it is going great and yes the white is soooo calming. Looking great – keep up the good work and can’t wait to see the finished pics.
Debby this card is beautiful! As always, your truly creative use of the leaves is amazing. Love it! :-)
Oh those leaves, they are so versatile and what is not to love, so say it again and again! Beautiful colours and perfect composition as always Debby. You make it look easy. And interesting to see your new craft room taking shape – it’s looking lovely and calm so far!
Your card is so beautiful! Your made totally not tropical card using tropical stamps. Although I’m not surprised, you are a queen of stretching stamps and dies and using them for purposes they weren’t meant to ;)
