When I first saw the Blooming Day set from Simon Says Stamp it reminded me of a flower garden of old with borders of blooms all jostling their heads together. All supplies are linked at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
I stamped the images on Arches Cold Pressed watercolor card in a variety of Distress Ink colors (mustard seed, dried marigold, worn lipstick, victorian velvet, seedless preserves, evergreen bough, peeled paint, bundled sage) and then used a damp brush to move the ink around and add more layers of color too. I cut the card with a Stitched Rectangle and then rubbed tattered rose around the edges and again used a damp brush to soften and add interest to the background.
For the sentiment I used my favorite Antique Gold embossing powder with a sentiment from the Uplifting Thoughts set then simply added a few sequins and foam mounted the finished panel on a Desert Storm card base.
My summer posts are likely to continue being short but hopefully still sweet LOL. We are taking every opportunity to enjoy the summer and the lovely weather we are having at times this year; just a few short weeks left before the schools go back in August here in Scotland. I hope you are enjoying the season wherever you are :D
