Gosh there’s been so much going on with the Among The Stars release from Simon Says Stamp that I’m only just squeezing in time with the July Card Kit! However, seriously, just look at that Handwritten Floral Greetings kit stamp set; isn’t it just gorgeous!! All supplies are linked at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
On the watercolor card from the kit, I started in the bottom left corner and stamped the flower and leaves in Clear Embossing Ink and white heat embossed. I then masked these and stamped again, working my way out until I had the lower portion covered in flowers and leaves. I cut the panel with a Basic Rectangle and then set about watercoloring and when dry accenting with Prismacolor pencils.
I wrapped twine around the panel and added a tag from Bundle Of Stitched Shapes cut from Desert Storm card and white heat embossed with a sentiment from the Handwritten Floral Greetings set. I added the panel to a Fog card base and finally accented with a few sequins. My favorite way to add sequins at the moment is to look for colors in the card, so adding a yellow sequin to a yellow flower and a blue one to the sky. I find it adds sparkly interest while still being subtle and not taking away from the focal point :D

What lovely flowers!! I really like the colors you chose and how you used that tag. Beautiful design!
Tags are always a favorite of mine :D
Oh my goodness Debby your card is stunning!
I wish I could afford to order this kit as its beautiful but I’ll just have to enjoy everyone else’s work! LOL
Just gorgeous!
I do love the kits, but did you know you can always purchase the stamp set separately. If it’s one that really suits you its worth thinking about perhaps.
Beautiful card. Love the colors. tfs!
:D
Darling card, Debby! I’ve been trying to keep some cards on hand without a greeting on the front so I can add an appropriate sentiment when the need arises, but I’ve had trouble deciding how to add one without detracting from the design. Your tag and twine idea is the perfect solution and so pretty to boot! Thanks once again for the lovely inspiration. x
Glad to inspire and yes, this design would work so well for adding the sentiment you need when you need it :D
So pretty and the colouring is beautiful! Love the string and little label – adds a smidgen of rustic charm :-)
You should see my instagram feed Janet; at the moment lots of old world, simple rustic living is creeping in there recently. I can see perhaps I will be including that more here too :D
Flowers as lovely as your watercolored variety would definitely brighten my day, Debby!
Thanks Susi :D
Very soft and beautiful!

Thanks for calling by Maye :D
Such a stunning card! Love how you masked them off and layered them. Your watercoloring is so pretty too! :)
I do love a bit of masking! I find it stretches the stamp set so much more :D
Simply stunning!
Thanks Helen :D
