The Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit has just gone up and it is an inspiration of bright and happy colors packed with goodness. Here’s a look at what’s inside. All supplies are linked at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
Sunshine in a box! Kit stamp set, wafer thin ‘dream’ die, two doodle notecards, fun Bo Bunny papers, Doodlebug sprinkles, two Kaiser Colour gel pens and matching card :D Oh and the pen nerd in my couldn’t resist testing the Kaiser Colour Gel Pens straight away and they write like a dream!
I took the Look For The Miracles set and stamped leaves and flowers to nestle around the sentiment focal point. I used Arches watercolor card with Versamark ink and white heat embossed before bringing in soft watercolor layers with pops of color. While meeting up with crafty friends last month I was reminded of the joys of Prismacolor pencils so after the watercolor was dry I added a little more depth to the images in places with the pencils and then cut the panel with a Stitched Rectangle and mounted on a white card base.
Confession time now! I had also white heat embossed the sentiment on the panel, but it wasn’t showing clearly with the light watercoloring. Rather than deepen all the colors so it stood out but lose the soft look, instead I stamped it in Versamark on Ivory card, heat embossed with Antique gold and cut out with a Nested Circle die. I then foam mounted this over the top of the sentiment on the panel and no one would know that my original plan hadn’t worked. OK, so all you guys know but you won’t tell will you ;)

I couldn’t figure out how you made the flowers and leaves ‘pop’ off that dreamy background until I read how you used Prismacolor pencils. Brilliant, Debby! And since I recently found the set of 36 pencils at a ridiculously low price at a warehouse store, I’m so anxious to try your technique! You are so sweet to always inspire me and share such wonderful tips and tricks of our trade. Thanks, Debby! xo
I had a small set Dori but having spent some time with crafty friends showing me their coloring I was keen to get those pencils out and of course buy more LOL

As always you have created another stunning card. I love your work and your water colouring and I really like how you used the Prisma pencils to make things pop.
I think you will see more pencil accents coming Denise – it was a great way to add a little more color :D
Love how you created the BG for your card, Debby. The gold embossed sentiment compliments your card beautifully!
Thanks Susi, the gold sentiment certainly worked better than the original LOL.
