I have learnt so much from Dawn Woleslagle and have always loved her beautiful butterfly card from 2014 (scroll down past the stunning hummingbirds) but back then even though Dawn said it was easy, for me it wasn’t and I never could get it right. Two years on, lots of time spent with a brush in hand and although it’s far from perfect I can have a go and my attempts do look like more like watercolored butterflies LOL. This card was also inspired by one of Dawn’s Online Card Class lessons too :D

I started by stamping butterflies from the new A Better You set from Clearly Besotted in Antique Linen ink on Arches watercolor card and then following the instructions in Dawn’s video I moved the color around with a damp brush and bought in watercolors in teals and deep yellows for the wings and a dark blue for the bodies. I used some spare paint to add splatters and then left the panel to dry before die cutting with a Stitched Rectangle.

I stamped the beautiful sentiment from Brushed Greetings II in Versamark and heat embossed with Liquid Platinum powder. Finally I rubbed a little Antique Linen around the edges of the panel and popped it on a Desert Storm card base before accessorising with sequins to finish :D
