Masking a scene with the new Got Your Back set from Clearly Besotted (due for release 05 April) had me smiling the whole time I was coloring! I think meerkats are adorable sitting on their sentry posts but also the sweet close family collaboration they have too. Here in the UK there is a market comparison company that uses meerkats for their marketing with the catchphrase ‘simples’! The phrase has even made it in to the English Dictionaries! Cute as it is though I’m on a mission to pad out my birthday card stash as those are the cards my family uses most. Being a traditional sort of guy too my husband never picks a birthday card unless it incorporates a birthday sentiment in there somewhere LOL. This post contains affiliate links. To set the scene I stamped and masked a family of meerkats so that they were holding a banner from the Baby Party Animals set from Simon Says Stamp. This banner was the perfect size for the baby meerkat to hold on to and nestle one on the sentiments from the Got Your Back set in the curve :D I also included the balloon from Good Times II. Once the scene was set I colored everything with Copics and added touches of Wink Of Stella and Glossy Accents. If you google images of meerkats they have dark areas around their eyes and quite an unusual sandy kind of coloring with dark ears, tip of their tails and feet.
The new sets will release on 05 April at 10pm UK time (5pm EST) at Clearly Besotted and Simon Says Stamp. In the meantime check out Stephanie’s blog for more inspiration and links to the design team :)
