Today’s post is part of a fun hop to celebrate Altenew’s 2nd birthday! I’ve got lots more information on the hop below and you can also find all the details on Altenew’s blog :D For now though let’s have a look at this little garden nook using the Garden Grow set. I warn you, I had a lot of fun and so this post is photo heavy!

The line drawings in the Garden Grow set had me thinking of an old-fashioned potting shed with terracotta pots and seed packets; lots of black on kraft stamping with minimal coloring.
I die cut several seed packets from kraft card, trimmed the tops with a pair of pinking scissors and stamped a variety of the Garden Grow images and sentiments in the bottom left corner in black ink. I kept the coloring to a minimum with one green Copic and a white gel pen to accent.
I then tucked in a piece of newspaper print patterned paper and a few sprigs of lavender and rosemary before accenting the packets with a die cut banner of patterned paper, clothes peg and a knot of rustic twine.
Next I made a card in a similar style – black stamping on kraft card cut with a Stitched Rectangle with Copic and white gel pen accents, a knot of twine with banner and peg and all mounted on a Fog card base with a panel of the newspaper print paper.
Finally I made some tea bag style lavender pockets. I used the same die as the kraft pockets but this time cut from paper vellum. I stamped an image and sentiment from Garden Grow in Versafine Onyx Black and clear heat embossed then added a little color with the same green Copic as before.
Rather than trimming the tops of the pockets as I had the kraft ones, this time I filled the pockets with dried lavender heads, folded the top corners in to create a tea bag shape and kept everything secure with an eyelet. I threaded the bags with twine and added a couple of the patterned paper banners to the ends.
