The April Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp is full of all sorts of doodads just perfect for layering. I love that when you open the box everything is already coordinated for you and you can delve straight in to picking out bits and pieces and putting them together. This card is so full of color and activity yet doesn’t use any stamps or dies just bits and pieces from the kit!

I started with a panel of the colorful diagonal stripe paper and foam mounted that over the subtle pink striped paper on a card base cut from white card included in the kit. It was just a case then of using a couple of the plastic clips (‘today’ and ‘good stuff’) and trimming away the clip part so they laid against the straight edge of the patterned paper. For the rest of the embellishments I had fun layering stickers included in the kit.

On some of the stickers I neutralised the adhesive with a powder tool and then foam mounted them over other stickers. I kept the stickers cascading down the join between the two patterned papers and although busy with everything being so coordinated it still works I think. Not only that but I’m hoping that all the positive messages will give a dear friend a boost :D

Have you checked out the wonderful projects of Wanda Guess? Not only that but Wanda is a skilled photographer and I like the way she takes photos of her cards from different angles and inspired me to catch a photo of the dimension of this card from above. You can also get a good look at that awesome patterned paper I used to line an envelope I had. I simply scored a diagonal line, rounded the top corner and trimmed the sides so the paper matched the flap of the envelope. I often have more patterned paper than I need so I love that I can use it to add a special touch to the envelope too. Not photographed, as it had the recipients address, was the front of the envelope where I thought I’d try to be Kristina Werner ….. hmmm good job there isn’t any photographic evidence and there’s only one Kristina LOL. Still I enjoyed trying :D
