I’m enjoying all the felty goodness at the moment as a result of the Spring Plush release from Simon Says Stamp and thought it high time I used some on a card by creating a simple felt embellishment.

I cut the flower from peach felt using the smallest of the Swirl Flower and Leaves dies and rolled it together using fabric glue to keep the swirl together. In the centre I added a few pearls with more of the fabric glue. I also cut two of the smallest leaves from the set from green felt and added a little floss stitching.

Having got the elements of the embellishment together I now wanted a simple background to showcase them. On watercolor card I inked the leaves from the Rubbernecker Bunch Of Tulips set in a variety of Distress Inks (Scattered Straw, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss) and spritzed with a solution of Perfect Pearls before stamping on a panel of watercolor card.

From more of the card I cut the Chisholm Wreath and adhered over the stamped leaves. The sentiment from Big U Words is white heat embossed on Smoke card and trimmed in to a banner before foam mounting and providing a nook to add the felt flower and leaves with a big glue dot.

I added a few sequins and pearls before mounting the panel on a Fog card base.

I love the texture and dimension the felt flower adds to the card. It does stand more proud of the surface though so rather than a standard envelope I will put this card in a glassine bag and hand deliver :D
