I think I might have squeaked in delight when I saw the nest image from the soon to be released Nesting set from Clearly Besotted! Nature inspired images such as this from Pinterest just make me sigh in a feel-good kind of way.
With this inspiration at the forefront of my mind I stamped the nest in Sparrow ink on a watercolored Scallop tag. Then I stamped the eggs in Lake Shores with Cobblestone speckles and watercolored around the eggs to give more depth and shadows. All the watercoloring was with Winsor & Newton paints. I also added some white and glitter gel pen speckles and some Platinum Stickles swirled through the nest twigs.
I foam mounted the tag on a panel of patterned papers and added the sentiment stamped in Sparrow ink and cut to a ribbon banner. The completed panel is then foam mounted on an Ivory card base.
Oh one thing I forgot is that i rubbed an ink blender with Frayed Burlap ink around the edges of everything just to give that soft natural look.
The new release will go live at 10pm UK time, 5pm EST, on 5th February at Clearly Besotted and Simon Says Stamp. In the meantime check out Stephanie’s blog for more inspiration and links to the rest of the Design Team including our guest for February Keren Baker.
