Have you checked out the latest release from Avery Elle yet? It’s got such a lot to offer, I’ve already shown you cute critters, well today is far and away from cute with this Hello Chum set LOL but so totally fun and just perfect for boys birthdays. OK, so that’s a bit sexist and girls like fun sharks too! However, I always find it harder to make boys cards and this set went down a treat with my youngest :D In fact he requested this card for his friend’s birthday.
I stamped the image in Intense Black ink on Neenah Solar White card, trimmed out with the matching dies and colored with Copics. I also added a few white gel pen and glitter gel pen dots to his back. The sentiment is white heat embossed on Schoolhouse Red card and trimmed in to a banner that I could tuck under the shark’s tail.
The shark is foam mounted on a Stitched Circle cut from a piece watercolor card, white heat embossed with waves and then watercolored with a watery background. This piece is then foam mounted on a panel of Fog card trimmed with a Pierced Banner Layer die and in turn mounted on a white card base with a strip of patterned paper.
I picked out a few sequins to match the paper and popped those on and called it done!
I hope you enjoy your weekend. I’m so excited to be meeting up with some of the Clearly Besotted girls this weekend – got some serious hugging to fit in LOL. This card is awesome (even if it does have me singing the JabberJaw theme song from the depths of my childhood mind) … love the pop of colors and the watery background.
Isn’t it weird how things like music and smells can take us right back to our childhood!
What a fabulous card! I absolutely love your coloring and the sweet design. Any boy would be thrilled to get this one.
Thank you!
I will probably never say this again but, I love that shark! I love the colors and the shark’s toothy grin.
It’s not a common phrase is it Cynthia LOL
