I know text talk isn’t normally colorful but I couldn’t resist adding some sherbet colors to this card! The Texting set from Simon Says Stamp makes for a quick and easy way to let someone know you miss them. I sure am missing the friends both old and new that I saw at CHA last week and am too far away from most of them also so this card is for all the amazingly talented, wonderful people I met and hope to meet again some day.
This card was so quick and easy to make; I stamped the various text bubbles in Rosie Cheeks, Smoke, Surf Blue, Maliblue and Melon and trimmed out. Then stamped the three emojis in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics before trimming out also.
Have you seen the Lasting Hearts card drive and fundraiser? I’m going to be back later in the week with a project but didn’t want to wait to let people know about the charity. Kimberly Saldana from Hero Arts has created a charity to support those that have lost a child to miscarriage. You can read Kimberly’s heartbreaking story on the Give Forward fundraising page.
Unfortunately loss of a child to miscarriage is all too common and one close to my heart as I’m sure it is to many of you and your families. The statistics say as many as one in four pregnancies miscarry, but the fact that the stats are so high does not make it any less devastating to those that loose a baby. Having experienced this loss, Kimberly found some comfort in the book “You are the Mother of all Mothers” by Angela Miller given to her by a friend and the aim of the charity is to give this book to those that have lost a child to miscarriage along with a handmade card.
Kimberly has joined forces with Hero Arts, Simon Says Stamp and Jennifer McGuire to raise awareness and funds for Lasting Hearts. 25 % of profits from the Prayers Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp collaborative set will be donated to the charity. You can also make a direct donation yourself and finally if you would like to help there is a card drive ongoing also.
I have started to make some cards using the Prayers set and if you are interested in participating (see Kimberly for all the details), sentiments should be along the lines of thinking of you, in my prayers, in my thoughts, sending hugs, sorry for your loss and should be sent to

I will get some photos of this set of cards and be back in the next day or two to share them with you. My heart goes out to Kimberly and to all those that have experienced this loss.
