I think January should be termed the month of the cute elephants with ones from Clearly Besotted, Simon Says Stamp and now My Favorite Things! Each has their own style though and the MFT Adorable Elephants set drew me to a simple and sweet style for this little cutie.
I stamped the elephant, balloon and butterfly in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut out with their matching dies and colored with Copics. I added Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to the balloon, a touch of stickles to the butterfly and some white gel pen accents to the elephant.
For the background I blended Cotton Candy, Sea Glass and Melon inks in to a Stitched Rectangle of watercolor card and stitched a few sequins to ground the scene. The sentiment from the set is white heat embossed on a scrap of card I colored with the same Copics as the balloon so everything matched nicely. I cut this in to a banner and then mounted all the elements with foam adhesive. Finally I matted the panel on to another of more watercolor card and then on to a Fog card base.

When you said you added a touch of stickles to the butterfly, how did you do that? I’ve had lots of stickles and was unsure how to use them. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I love your work.
Hi Cathy, not a stupid question at all! I like the diamond or star dust stickles as they add a lovely sparkle. Squeeze the glitter glue on to the colored area and leave to dry. Try and avoid getting the stickles on the stamped black outlines as that doesn’t tend to look as nice. Hope that helps!
Sweet and cute :) The stitching on the sequins is a nice finish!
