Happy New Year! I don’t know if you find this time of year the same, but for me it’s a time to tidy up, de-clutter and start the year with new resolve. What better time than a little refresh here at Lime Doodle Design. For a long while I’ve wanted to change things up, almost immediately I did my last web site revamp to be honest. I really wanted a design that made the most of all the different sizes of screens we access the web; from mobile to large screen desk tops and everything in between. I kept looking around and for a long time didn’t find what I was looking for. Don’t get me wrong, I was delighted with the flexibility that my previous design from Prophoto allowed me, but Prophoto wasn’t fully responsive to all screen sizes and I really wanted that feature around here. So I kept looking and eventually a few months back I found what I was looking for!
As far as design was concerned I started with a theme from The Design Space which appealed to me with its clean and simple lines, muted tones and nods to the Scottish countryside I delight in looking out my window to. I also searched through my Pinterest color board looking for swatches, such as the cat eye picture above and from that I worked myself a little mood board.
I manage my website revamps, so it has taken me a while to find the time to sort out what I wanted and how to achieve that but after a lot of work and head scratching today is the day! I hope you will have a look around and let me know what you think. If you find any problems please get in touch; it’s just me here testing to see if everything looks OK and I’ve got all the links working. I’m being realistic in thinking I will have a few glitches to fix, but even the big multi-nationals seem to manage that so although I’m hoping everything runs smoothly I’m equally being prepared. I do have a list of things I want to change but need a little help with so overtime I hope to get those sorted too.
In the meantime, please take a look around. I’ve had a clean up of how my posts are grouped and sorted and I’m slowly working my way through previous posts tagging them better so that searching for things will be easier. Lots to keep me busy, but then I do love a good sort out and there’s nothing better to start the New Year with!
Thanks for all the effort you keep putting in. Love the site!!
Beautiful colors!
Fabulous !
Love it! I especially love the colors, but everything worked well for me!!!
I’m new to your blog. I love the style of your cards but find the site a problem to use. Having a “older posts” button at the end of each page would make it much easier. Thanks
Hi Dale, yes that is on my list of things to get the developer to do. I bought a ‘theme’ but I need some customisation to get it to work how I’d like it to. So I agree and that’s hopefully coming soon :D
