I love this style at the moment; a softly watercolored background with a beautiful focal point and the black card making the sentiment pop – clean and simple and yet with a soft elegant approach. I started with watercolor card and loosely watercolored a background with Winsor & Newton paints.

While that dried I cut several Heart of Roses dies from Marshmallow card and glued them together. For the sentiment from the Best Hugs set, I wanted it to really pop from the background and I find the best way to do this is to white heat emboss on black card – classic, simple and yet it really helps the sentiment to stand out. To add extra emphasis I attached a black stripe banner cut from patterned paper.

Now that the watercolor was dry I added the heart embellishment to it with Multi Medium Matte and dotted around a few sequins. The panel is then mounted on a Fog card base.
