A reader commented the other day that she sees me adding to my color board on Pinterest and wonders if it is inspiration for a card. Well I am hugely influenced by color and this card was inspired by this pin:

Peach/cream tones, watercolor and a pop of gold. I started with a panel of watercolor card and layered light washes of Winsor & Newton tube paints before painting a few random triangles in a deeper coral. On top of this I layered the Stacked Hearts die cut from Marshmallow card and then wrapped the panel with a strip of vellum to help delineate the sentiment from the background.

The Painted Congrats die is cut from gold glitter card and adhered with clear foam adhesive. I also added a Stitched Circle of Marshmallow card with a felt Heart Duet accented with a twine bow and adhesive pearl.

I added a few more pearls along with some sequins to the background and called it done! This card fits very well with Diecember, celebrating all things die cutting – have you taken a look at the Diecember release from Simon Says Stamp yet?

I’m enjoying creating non-holiday cards now as my creative time looks to the New Year. Having said that I’ve still got some gift card envelopes and such I need to make so you might see the odd Holiday project from me still.
