One of the techniques I’ve most enjoyed exploring in 2015 is watercoloring and if you are a regular visitor here then that’s probably no surprise. As such I was particularly delighted with the watercolor paintable prints Suzy Plantamura has designed for Simon Says Stamp included in the From All Of Us release. There are 12 designs in the pack which are printed on the smooth side of Tim Holtz watercolor card so they are perfect for watercoloring. With something for everyone the designs all have a different feel from quotes from the movie Frozen to gingerbread houses but it was this snowman that I couldn’t resist. You can see all the designs in my video walk through of the new release with these watercolor prints being shown at around the 2.10 minute mark.

I taped the snowman print to a piece of old mount board to stop any warping, covered the polka dots on the scarf with masking fluid and when dry spent a relaxing few minutes painting with Winsor & Newton tube paints. After removing the masking fluid, there wasn’t much need to accessories but I did add some rock candy distress glitter to the tree and snowflakes. The sentiment is from the Simon & Dexter Christmas set, stamped in Versamark on black card and white heat embossed before trimming in to a banner.

The print is sized at 4.25 x 5.5 inches but I cut a slither off each edge so that I could add it to an A2 white card base but before mounting I added adhesive backed wood tape around the edges of the base which easily adds a lovely rustic feel to the finished card.
