I’ve had a long-term love affair with white embossed flowers and I’m not sure if it the richness of autumn colors at the moment but recently I’ve noticed I’m reaching for the gold powder instead! These gold embossed flowers are from the new release from Clearly Besotted Stamps; Merci Beaucoup – who doesn’t love gorgeous roses.
On Arches watercolor card, I stamped the roses in Versamark ink and gold heat embossed before watercoloring with Winsor & Newton paints. There’s a gentle wash of blue around the roses and then any spare paint got splattered around. As the panel had a vintage vibe, I blended in Fossil ink very gently around the edges with a mini ink blending tool.
A sentiment from the set is stamped in Versamark and gold heat embossed then I wrapped the panel with a twine bow and mounted on a Desert Storm card base with a few sequins to finish.
I wanted the flowers to be key in this card and the sentiment to be there but taking a lesser role. A neighbour has been rushed into hospital and I’m not sure how bad things are so thought a ‘thinking of you’ sentiment was more appropriate under the circumstances than a ‘get well soon’. Gosh I hate cancer so much :(
Give your loved ones an extra hug tonight.
