Ugh, the dreaded teen boy cards! Can’t be pretty, mushy, too colorful, cute, fussy ….. however you may get approval if you keep it clean, simple with one or two pops of color, oh and preferably sports or car related LOL.
I had two teen boys to make for, different families but born on the same day, and to make quick work of it I used the Sports Planner set which is filled with all sorts of sports options.
Both boys play for the local rugby club so I picked their team colors to accent the cards. One lad is more of a general sports player though so I picked a range of balls for him and stamped them in Versafine Onyx Black, Sunshine, Fog, Lipstick Red and Sparrow and die cut with their matching dies. These are layered over a label of patterned paper (an older Teresa Collins line, Something Wonderful) on a Fog card base with a few enamel dots and twine to finish.
The other lad concentrates mainly on his rugby so I spread the die cuts over a large tag cut from patterned paper and accented with the number 9 (the position he plays) cut from Schoolhouse Red card with the Number Blocks. Again enamel dots and twine to finish.
I couldn’t resist pulling the colors from the cards with a couple of matching envelopes using some of my old 12×12 Bazzill stash. I hope this didn’t overload the color too much for them LOL!

Awesome cards…I agree making boy cards is so hard. I would love to see stamp companies just do a boy card hop!
perfect!
Great cards! If the color overloads them, they will make short work of the envelopes anyway lol
LOL, indeed!
Yes, I dread teen boy cards, as well but you appear to have mastered them. Both of them are going to be pleased with these cards. Just don’t expect them to show it.
LOL, I got a nice call from one of the Mum’s who particularly likes my cards so I know for sure it was appreciated by one member of the house LOL.
Terrific boy cards Debby :-)
What a great card for a teen or even an adult who participates in sports. Great design. TFS
These cards are so totally fabulous and stylish, Debbie. I have to deal with four grandsons, one of whom informed me last month that cards were just not necessary :-O I always play to their moms. It works for me.
Not necessary! He’s got a lot to learn LOL, but yes the moms will appreciate the thought :D
