I don’t know about you but the watercolor trend came in strong and then just when I thought it was going to move on I think it’s back with added strength! I’m so glad too as I love all things watercolor. At the moment I’m seeing lots of lovely colour used to give a watercolor wash and wanted to use this technique with the I See You stamp set from the new October Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp.
The kit has the most gorgeous colour palette and I’ve got a project showing lots of the My Mind’s Eye patterned papers in the kit tomorrow, but for today, for me, it was all about the glasses image in the I See You stamp set.
I stamped the glasses in Versamark on Tim Holtz watercolor card and gold heat embossed before washing over the image with Gansai Tambi paints. I then splattered the panel with more of the paints as well as some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Gold.
The small ‘hello’ sentiment from the set is stamped in the beautiful Galaxy Gold ink included in the kit along with Hot Lips ink. I then cut the Painted Hello die from the Pimento card and foam mounted that on top. I added a few Gold and Watermelon sequins to finish.
Here’s my look at some of the kit. The Galaxy Gold ink is seriously delicious as are all the My Mind’s Eye goodies in the kit – gold foiled papers, and journalling cards :D There’s also the Painted Hello die as well as embroidery floss and of course the standard included card and stamp set.
And here’s the full reveal. You can subscribe to this (no obligation) card kit of the month program for $24.95 plus shipping and handling. Kits can also be purchased individually at Simon Says Stamp store for $29.95 plus Shipping and Handling where you can also buy many of the elements of the kit separately. Clicking here takes you directly to this October edition of the kit :D
I already have the Painted Hello die that is included in this month’s kit so I’m going to have a little giveaway for that die and I’m sure I can find a few bits and bobs to pop in with it too :D Leave a comment below for by Friday 18th 11.59pm EST to be eligible.
