I am always inspired by Kristina Werner, always have been and always will be. Recently she has been knocking it out the park with her watercoloring and I just had to have a go at this card.

Oh and I should probably have warned you to wear sunglasses for this post as this card is bright! The set I used is a Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember collaborative set with Wplus9 called Band Camp and has the sweetest marching band guys and girls. I love the ‘make some noise’ sentiment and visualised a watercolor rainbow of noisy fun coming from the band members!

Although this card hits you with all the colour it really is easy to do! I stamped the three band members with Versafine Onyx Black on Canson watercolor card and gave it a going over with my heat tool to make sure it was properly dry before covering the images with masking fluid and leaving to dry.

Once the masking fluid was dry I added a wash of water before bringing in a rainbow of colours with Gansai Tambi paints. I gave this a dry and then added another layer of colour. Dried again before adding a dark grey ground. Dried again and finally splattered with a solution of Perfect Pearls. Then dried one last time before peeling up the masking fluid.

As so much was going on with the background, I thought it best to keep the colouring of the band members simple and in a loose style. I took some Distress Markers, scribbled them on to an acrylic block and then picked up touches of colour to add just a little interest.

Finally, the sentiment is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and trimmed to a banner and added to the panel with foam adhesive which in turn is added to a card base made with more of the Canson watercolour card.
