Well we are kicking things off for STAMPtember with a Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop! Hopefully you’ve come here from Laura Bassen but if not start at the beginning with Simon’s blog. More on the hop below but before I jump on in to the details of this card and tag set I wanted to think a little on what STAMPtember is.
STAMPtember® – an event intended to inspire, educate, and celebrate the greatness of rubber stamping.
Yes, STAMPtember is a fabulous extravaganza of stamps, dies, inks and notecards with fun and surprises along the way, but for me it’s more about the people. Spread from one corner of the world to another we connect through a shared love of creating; laughing, sharing tips and supporting each other along the way. Gosh looking back on the last 5 years of blogging and how my life has changed for the better around this hobby.
For today’s card and tag I used an old water spritzed stamping technique of inking a stamp and then spritzing liberally before stamping. So easy and yet it creates gorgeous ink blending reminiscent of watercoloring. I inked up the new Leaves Background stamp with Frayed Burlap, Peeled Paint, Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade and then spritzed with a solution of Perfect Pearls (one scoop of Perfect Pearls in a mini mister) before stamping on Canson watercolor card.
For the card I die cut a Stitched Oval Frame and foam mounted it over the leaves, tucking in a Clustered Leaves cut from vellum and a tag using the new Happy Day dies cut from Slate card. The sentiment from the previously released Be Sentiments set is stamped in Versamark and then gold embossed. The panel is mounted on a Fog card base and then accented with twine, sequins and wood veneer stars.
The elements of the card are repeated for the tag which was cut from the spritzed leaves background with a Large Tags die.
