First off, this post is part of a blog hop to celebrate the new October Card Kit, more on that below, but for now lets look at the card. Aren’t the My Mind’s Eye patterned papers in the October Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp gorgeous; gold foiled and a delicious mix of pinks and mustard! A great way to showcase a range of patterns is to use small pieces and stitch them in to a banner.
The Drifting Stitched Circles die provides a nice range of circles in differing sizes so I used that die on several of the patterned papers in the kit then stitched them together with the occasion gold chevron from one of the die cut journalling cards also in the kit.
I wrapped the stitched banner around a panel of Cream card and used foam adhesive to keep the circles in place. I then stamped two of the speech bubbles from the I See You set in Black and Galaxy Gold and the hello sentiment in Black and Hot Lips, trimmed out and added those over the banner.
I also tucked the big ampersand in there too (another journalling card find) then stamped the rest of the sentiment in Versamark on Black card and White heat embossed before trimming and adding with foam adhesive to the side of the panel. The panel is then popped on a Desert Storm card base.
Before I sign off, I made a card with the I See You stamp set from the kit yesterday if you want a bit more inspiration you can check that out here.
You can subscribe to this (no obligation) card kit of the month program for $24.95 plus shipping and handling. Kits can also be purchased individually at Simon Says Stamp store for $29.95 plus Shipping and Handling where you can also buy many of the elements of the kit separately. Clicking here takes you directly to this October edition of the kit :D
