Wohoo, it’s STAMPtember! I love this time of year, the change of seasons and all the new crafting goodies hitting the shelves in preparation for the busiest crafting time of the year! Each September Simon Says Stamp have a lovely big release of new products both exclusively Simon and also sets in collaboration with top names in the industry. Throughout STAMPtember there will be A LOT going on so keep an eye on the Simon Says Stamp blog so as not to miss anything.
To kick things off I like to see all the new products laid out; it helps to give me a sense of what’s on offer and to pick favourites. So here’s the release in full:
Fabulous! Sets, stamps, dies, inks, oh and pre-scored card bases too!
The Merry Christmas Ornament die was an immediate favourite for me. Not only is it one of the most outstandingly gorgeous and intricate dies I’ve seen but I knew it would make quick and easy tags and cards as a die cut overlay; die cut, adhere it to the backing of your choice, trim out, done!
I simply cut the Merry Christmas Ornament die from white card and then used Ranger Multi Medium Matte and a pin to dot glue on the back of the die cut before adhering to red glitter card. I placed a piece of paper over the top and gave it a good rub to make sure it was securely glued down and left to dry before cutting around the circle to remove any excess glitter card and finishing with a little Baker’s Twine. The glitter card I used was an old one from my stash but I’ve had the DCWV glitter card before which is fabulous and there is a pack with lots of lovely jewel colours in it.
This would make a great tag for a parcel or gift bag but as the diameter is 3 3/4 inches then it is also large enough to be a card too :D
Of course you can always go to town on a background; here I blended Distress Inks in Broken China, Stormy Sky and Chipped Sapphire before splattering with a solution of Perfect Pearls. To accent I added a few sequins and crystals.
Well it’s going to be a rollercoaster of a month! Check out all the STAMPtember goodies here and then fasten your seat belt for a month-long celebration. I will be back tomorrow with a hop to get the party started :D
