I’ve made a few cards recently coloured with the Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and I’ve had a number of requests to see a video. So when I saw the new Beautiful Friend set from Clearly Besotted I thought, you know what, let’s do this and turned on the video camera! Before I crack on though, just a reminder that for the next few days I will be sharing sneak peeks of the new Clearly Besotted release but the release won’t go live until 10pm UK time (5pm EST) on 5th August :D

Using Canson watercolour card, I stamped the blossom image from Beautiful Friend in Versamark and white heat embossed. To prevent warping I taped the card on my work surface and then started to colour. I love leaves as much as flowers and so started by adding a Mid Green marker directly to the card and then blending out with a wet paint brush. Slowly but surely I added more layers of colour, shading and highlights and in total used 9 markers. I only have a limited collection of the markers but even with just the ones I have it is easy to really pack a punch – the colours are vibrant and they blend so easily on watercolour card. It’s probably best if you watch the video to see the colouring and the marker colours I used.

Having finished the colouring with a light wash of Cobalt Blue marker around the image I left it to dry while white heat embossing the sentiment on a scrap of Black card, trimming out and adhering over a twirl of silver thread and a few Sparkling Clear sequins to embellish. The panel is mounted on a Fog card base – time to put in another order for some more of my favourite Simon Says Stamp Fog card, I use that colour more than any I think.
