Today I’m looking at adding vellum accents to a card which is a follow on to my recent Vellum Review post. I’m using the newly released September Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp; the kit is jam-packed but, for me, the star of the show has to be those gorgeous Pink Fresh Studio papers! Such lovely colours, in dreamy designs and there are 14 double-sided papers included in the kit (2 each of 7 designs) which means you have a whopping 14 different patterns to choose from. Some of these papers are so gorgeous I could just pop them on a card front and call it done!

That’s not totally far from the truth today LOL, I die cut the Dream Big sentiment from one of the papers with a Large Tag and adhered it over a panel of another paper which in turn was layered over another paper. Aren’t all those colours and patterns just gorgeous together :D As lovely as this was I did want to add a little more interest and that’s where the vellum came in. I didn’t want to dominate or cover up the background too much but by gold heat embossing the balloon images from the kit’s Birthday Bits set and trimming out, I was able to add a little something which fitted with the light and airy feel and the papers still shone through.

The trickiest bit of this card was adhering the vellum but I cut up tiny pieces of clear foam adhesive and added it under the thicker areas of gold heat embossing and also under the sequins and they weren’t going anywhere afterwards :D After the sequins I added a twine bow to finish :D

Here’s a look at some of the kit. I’ve mentioned the papers and stamp set today but there are also gorgeous acetate cards (love the gold ones in the pack), a stencil which matches the paper patterns, pallet knife, gesso and toning card stock :D
