I must admit to crushing slightly over this stencilled background! It started as a watercolor piece with my favourite green and teal colours using Gansai Tambi paints on Canson card. Then I took the Big Words stencil and Olive ink and sponged the words lightly on top of the watercolor.
I spritzed with a solution of perfect pearls and liked the highlights that added so went back in with the Big Words stencil and overlaid some of the words again but this time with White ink. While the white ink was out I added a few random dots with a rubber on the end of a pencil and smooshed them around with my fingers a little too.
I die cut the Painted Enjoy from Olive card but then also sponged Olive ink on top to give variation and a deeper colour to stand out from the background. With this aim I also stitched a piece of vellum to the background for the sentiment die cut to sit on so that again helped to give separation.
I paired the sentiment with one from the Happy & Smile stamp set, stamped in Slate and trimmed out, and a couple of sequins finished things off.
I’m sorry things are a bit quiet around here this week, but the good news is that it will be crazy around here next week! Simon Says Stamp‘s STAMPtember is a month-long stamping extravaganza! Already I see the STAMPtember link set up on the web page which I’m waiting with anticipation to see fill up with all the new products! I’ve played with some of the new sets and can’t wait to share with you. I posted this sneaky peek the other day and I must dig my camera out and take a few more because you are going to love what’s coming in just a few short days!
