We’ve not long been home from our family holiday and are still trying to find our feet as we are full swing into the school holiday, birthdays and lots of activities. Finding time to craft during busy spells can be challenging but having a card kit makes those precious moments to myself all the more productive. This is especially so of the August Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp – everything is so beautifully coordinated from card, patterned paper, stamp set, die to all the embellishments and little accessories. I grabbed a quiet moment, dove into the kit and whipped up this card with shaker tag in no time :D

The Martha Steward glitter shapes in the kit are so fun! I tried sprinkling them on the different Simple Stories papers included in the kit and decided this ombre sun paper really brought out the colours of the sequins best. I cut a Large Tag from the paper and stitched acetate over the top, once I’d gone around three sides I poured the sequins into the pocket and then stitched up the fourth side to trap the sequins inside. I wish I had one of the We R Memory Keepers Fuse tools then I would’ve made a totally clear pocket layered over these lovely papers (going to put that one on my shopping list).

The shaker tag is accented with some of the October Afternoon stickers then mounted on a Stitched Rectangle of Ivory Card and in turn on a top folding card base made from the gorgeous Tropical Bay shimmer card from My Mind’s Eye. All the layers are popped up with the included foam adhesive – there’s even foam squares in this kit and a stamp pocket for the stamp set. Yep jam-packed this one :D
