Hello! Isn’t that Painted Hello die perfect for adding a fun sentiment; it really pops off this repeat stamped background. For the background I chose five colours of the new Simon Says Stamp inks – Scuba, Spring Rain, Teeny Bikini, Rosie Cheeks and Stone and stamped the anchor from Sail Away. I used the Misti to help both align my stamping and if necessary stamp a second time to get the best impression – it makes such a huge difference to the success of this type of background.
For the rest of the card I kept it simple so as not cover up too much of the stamping. The Painted Hello die is cut from Black card and then I used inspiration from two of my crafting idols. Laura Bassen for the vellum piece to delineate the sentiment from the background along with the twirl of thread, and Jennifer McGuire for adding the Glossy Accents to the die cut to make it really pop :D
Everything is then mounted on a Fog card base with a few enamel dots and sequins for good measure.

loved the colors
I simply adore this card! I will have to CASE it for a birthday card for my sister next year, since she loves anchors.
I love the idea for the repeated background. And the new colors are great!
I love the way you used the anchors to make a background paper!! Awesome technique! Thank you for sharing!!
This card is wonderful, I love the image and the colors! I’m wondering about the technique you used with the MISTI and how long it took to create the background. Any advice to offer?
Thank you, Toni
Hmmm, not long Toni. The main time drain was cleaning the stamp after each impression. 15 minutes maybe. I’m only guessing though.
