The beginning of a new month heralds the start of Clearly Besotted Stamps sneak peeks and I’m kicking things off by colouring Vellum with Copics and the new Magnolia Blooms set (available 10pm UK time 05 June). I do love the translucency of vellum and it opens up all sorts of possibilities for adding colour on the back of a stamped image – no need to worry about colouring in the lines or damaging nibs with heat embossing! In Versamark I stamped the lovely large leaf spring and also three of the Magnolia line images and White heat embossed. After embossing I trimmed around the images and then turned the three flowers over to add colour to the back. You need to go with deeper, more vibrant colours than you would imagine as the colour doesn’t absorb into the vellum in the same way it would on card. You can really move the colour around a lot too because of this and get quite a painterly feel.

The flowers are mounted with Clear Foam Adhesive on a Gossamer Blue tag – I really like that navy and hot pink combination combined with the other neutrals. I added a Tag Hole Reinforcer cut from Fog card and then layered a Tag cut from Marshmallow and stamped in Slate ink with the sentiment from the Miniature Floral Collection. This tag is tied up with some American Crafts twine and then everything is mounted on a Fog panel cut with a Stitched Rectangle and then on to a Marshmallow card base with just a few pearls to finish.
