This post is a little preview of the Pretty Pink Posh Watercolor Blog Hop starting tomorrow. Watercolours are super trendy at the moment so what a perfect theme for a great hop! Add in to the fun is that this hop is open to all to link up to (more details below).
For my watercolouring I wanted to have a go at the beautiful soft watercoloured backgrounds that Dawn Woleslagle showcased on this post. Dawn is the most amazing artist and I adore so much of what she paints but know that my ability doesn’t stretch that far However, those backgrounds, yup I could have a go at that LOL.
Using lots of water, I lightly coloured a piece of watercolour card with Gansai Tambi paints and left to dry before cutting out with the Stitched Duo 3 die from Pretty Pink Posh. I used the Bokeh Lights stencil from Simon Says Stamp to sponge White ink and Dreamweaver Pearlescent embossing paste to give an overall ethereal feel. This background was perfect to showcase the most adorable wee elephant from Wplus9’s Bubble Talk. He’s stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Neenah Solar White, cut out with the matching die and coloured with Copics. The bubble is stamped in Hero Arts Dark Quartz and also die cut out.
The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted’s Delightful Day stamped in Black and cut out with a Sketchy Banner from Simon Says Stamp. At the same time I also cut a Stitched Rectangle from White and scored a top folding card base from Fog. Phew, this was a busy card to put together LOL. With all the elements now prepped, it all went together with lots of foam adhesive for dimension and the necessary dose of Pretty Pink Posh sequins :D
