Simon Says Stamp have a new release today; The Color Of Fun! The release is jam-packed full of lovely new stamps, dies and lots of colour in the form of 12 new inks! Here’s my usual look at what’s new:

The Color Of Fun

I have a funny story to share about the new inks! In the spring Shari Carroll handed me a big swatch book of Pantone colours and asked me to pick a bunch of colours I liked. The pressure folks! I sat there and jotted down numbers while comparing this colour with that colour and back again until I came up with a list I loved. Meanwhile Laura Bassen was doing the same and eventually Shari compiled two swatches of colours, one for me and one for Laura. Oh my word, I was in fits of giggles, couldn’t stop myself! There was my swatch of soft, mid-tone colours and next to it was Laura’s with her love of bold, rainbow colours; the two couldn’t have been more different! Shari added in her colour choices and that’s where we are today – 4 colours each to make 12 new inks. Each colour set is unique to the person who chose them and yet they totally work together too.

The new Cone Building set and matching dies are perfect for summer. I stamped the cone in Duckling, the first layer of ice cream in Wisteria then coated with Distress Glitter, the second layer in Melon then coated in Star Dust Stickles and finally the top layer in Hollyhock and covered with a good dose of Glossy Accents. I layered these over one another with a few enamel accents and mounted on the front of a shaker card filled with a mixture of colourful sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and Lucy’s Cards.

I used the fabulous Birthday Circle cut from White card to accent the aperture in the card front cut with a Nested Circle die. I snipped the die cut open slightly so that it fit the aperture perfectly and hid the join behind the ice cream cone. Finally the sentiment is stamped in Hollyhock, cut to a banner shape and added on top.

I’ll be back tomorrow as part of a fun hop to celebrate the new release. I hope you will call by then, but in the meantime take a look at the whole The Color Of Fun release over at Simon Says Stamp :D
