Todays post is part of a blog hop celebrating the new The Color Of Fun release from Simon Says Stamp. More on the hop below, but lets jump into these blocked leaves pattern cards first. I love, love, love the One With Nature set! As a stationery geek, when I saw this set it reminded me of lots of the lovely trendy patterns around, in particular by Eloise Renouf.

All of these cards are based on blending the gorgeous new ink colours, Catkin, Spring Rain and Rosie Cheeks. Just earlier this morning I swatched out the new colours for comparison if you’d like to take a look click here. For each leaf from the One With Nature set I stamped the image on masking paper and roughly cut a hole in the paper around the image. I used the negative of the mask to blend ink onto the card but before doing that I placed more masking paper cut with the matching Nature dies on the card, added the negative mask then set to with those new inks.

For the middle leaf I decided not to mask off the leaf first to add variation in the style of Eloise Renouf. I then stamped the leaf images in Smoke before stamping the sentiment from the collaborative Wplus9 set Many Thanks in Black. I added a strip of card stamped with the Diagonal Stripes in Black and finally mounted on a Fog card base.

I couldn’t stop there and made this card in a similar fashion but included the masking for the middle leaf and this time stamped the Emerson quote from One With Nature.

One more with just a single leaf and that fabulous type font sentiment.

And here’s all three together again. I love the One With Nature set and have a hundred ideas at least that I’d like to try out with it.
