The latest class, Mask-erade, from Online Card Classes started this week :D Today in class I’m having fun drawing with Masking Fluid and I thought I’d share a card here too. You really don’t need any drawing abilities (I’ve not!) to get a simple pattern which can then be bought to life with watercolour; a few dashes here or swirls there and you’re away!
I used the Fineliner Masking Fluid Pen to draw the simple sunrise pattern on Canson watercolour card, left it to dry and then added a wash of water over the whole panel before bringing in colour with Gansai Tambi paints. Once the paint dried I was able to get on with the fun bit of peeling those threads of Masking Fluid away to reveal the pattern.
I didn’t want to cover up the sunrise too much so kept with really minimal embellishments. The sentiment from Work Out is stamped in Versamark on Slate card, White heat embossed, trimmed into a banner and adhered to the side. Finally a swoosh of sequins and I called it done.
It’s not too late to join in with the Mask-erade class; you can watch the class videos at any time that suits you :D Masking really is the most magical technique!
