At the moment I do love the technique of adding water based colour and then softening with a damp brush to give a water-coloured look – so easy! For this card I used Distress Markers to colour directly on the fun stamp images in the Hero Arts Stamp Your Own Cactus set before stamping on Watercolour Card. This gets a base layer of colour down and then with that damp brush I moved the colours around, softening them. I also scribbled markers on an acrylic block and then picked up the colour with the brush to add more depth and details; I love how this can add shadows and dimension. To ground the image I added a wash of water with the brush and then dotted colour in to give a soft base for the cactus to sit on.
The fun sentiment is stamped in Smoke on a Valentines banner cut from White card and foam mounted over the plant pot. A few clear sequins, blue sequins and wood veneer stars to finish before mounting the panel on a top folding Fog card base.
I will be back on Thursday with the first look at the new Falling For You release from Simon Says Stamp – hope to see you then :D

Kudos…this one is just amazing. I’ve tried the technique but need to practice more. You’ve got it nailed.
Love this set – almost picked it up at a craft expo I was at this weekend but now kicking myself for not getting it – but my friend did – so at least I have that going for me!
