Wohoo, time for the March card kit from Simon Says Stamp – and one of my most favourite colour schemes of all time! I love yellow at the moment and have been combining it with bright spring colours of blues and pinks/reds but there is nothing like classic grey and black combined with a bright pop of yellow :D

Simon Says Stamp March Card Kit

The kit is based around the lovely Authentique papers and journalling cards. I used one of the cards to stamp the graphic flower image from the Flowers On My Mind kit stamp set; the leaves in Fog ink and the flowers in Sunshine ink (perfect matches for the papers). The sentiment is stamped in Black and then I used the Liquid Pearls in the kit to accent the flower adding a Charcoal sequin to mix things up a little. I trimmed the top off the card so that I could mount it on a Fog panel and have room for a bit of splatter and stitched paper strips. For the panel I started by adhering the black stripe paper down the side and then splattered Mr Huey’s Double Yellow and Heidi Swapp Black mists.

When dry I popped the focal piece on, stitched paper strips above with black thread and accented with more sequins. The panel is then foam mounted on a Marshmallow card base.

The March Card Kit is still available as I write this or you can get a subscription to ensure getting a kit each month :) The Journalling Cards in the kit really do make things easy! Add in the gorgeous papers and matching card and I’ve not even used the die included in the kit yet! I’ve a card with that tomorrow – see you then!
