I’m definitely in therapeutic colouring mode at the moment! There are so many cute images in the new Hop To It release from Simon Says Stamp :D Today’s card uses the Slumber Party set with matching Girls’ Night dies which are so absolutely adorable! I stamped the little girl in Memento Tuxedo Black and Copic coloured her in the image of my daughter – green eyes, auburn hair and she loves purple so the PJs had to be purple! It was interesting with her hair, I’m not sure on the correct way to colour auburn hair but when you look closely at my daughter’s hair it has so many colours running though it to create the overall shade. I enjoyed experimenting and started with some warm YR colours as a base and then layered deeper browns in the E55-59 range over the top. The result is quite close I think so I was happy enough. I did add some Wink of Stella over her hair, partly to replicate the way the sun catches the colours in auburn hair and well, if you are having a slumber party then a bit of sparkle never goes amiss! Pictures never capture Wink of Stella very well so I took a video on my phone and shared it on Instagram.
I also experimented with the PJs, once they were coloured and shaded purple, I added some colourless blender to a paper towel and dabbed it on the PJs. This gave a little fabric-like texture and was fun to do. I stamped, cut out and coloured the moon and star images and gave those a dose of Wink of Stella. The sentiment is stamped in Black on a Greeting Block die cut from white and then everything was mounted with foam adhesive on patterned paper cut with the Stitched Rectangles dies.
I’m just wondering which set to delve into for my next card …. perhaps the Rejoice set as I love the stylised fish in that one …. or maybe the Umbrella Shaker – that would be fun … or ….

Soooo cute!
You’re spot on with the auburn colour of her hair…and that sweet expression on her face. The fuzzy p.j.’s also look terrific.
Fabulous card! I love the added texture and sparkle.
Hugs,
Snoopy :D
Your cards always make me smile and this one is adorable!
Great card Debby and you did an amazing job on the Copic coloring!
Debby – your experiment was a rousing success – love your little girl’s auburn hair! And thanks for the reminder to use things like paper towels for a little bit of texture – I needed that.
Great card!
