I was delighted to be a part of the Winnie & Walter birthday celebrations and equally stoked to be joining them for their final week of month long celebrations and inspiration :D  A week to die for is the perfect way to end the month with a bang!

The new release dies are all so gorgeous I didn’t know which way to turn, but the classic Katharine Cutaways won my heart – tags, banners, panels with edge details ….. so many options packed into this one set :D I cut the tag from watercolour card, stamped and masked a couple of the images from The Big, The Bold & Party set in Versamark and gold heat embossed. I used my favourite Gansai Tambi watercolours to give a loose teal watercolour wash behind and a pop of pink and orange for the details of the paper lanterns.

I used one of the large rectangle dies with pierced edge detail to cut some patterned paper and mounted the tag on top. By this point I’d threaded the tag with American Crafts twine and added some of the Pretty Pink Posh speciality mix sequins specially designed for Winnie & Walter’s birthday :D I used a little of the paper to cut a banner and stamped the greeting from the Sugar Rush set in Hot Lips mounted it over the tag and then placed everything on a Fog card base :D

For my next card I wanted to use the negative space of the In A Word Happy Cutaway – such a fabulous die to add to any project but also the die leaves this great negative space to play with and in that space I wanted to pile in more of those gorgeous sequins :D I backed some patterned paper with white card to give support and then cut the In A Word Happy Cutaway from it. I’ve kept the positive part of the die to use on a future project. The remaining negative portion was a little too big for the Katharine Cutaways tag die, however, by partially cutting the tag, shifting it along and cutting again, I was able to create a larger tag to fit :D

I added an acetate layer and foam adhesive edge before filling the shaker with the sequins. A second white tag enclosed the shaker; you can see the tag at this point on my Instagram feed where I couldn’t resist giving it a workout! After which I mounted it on patterned paper die cut with the Katherine Cutaway and in turn mounted on an Audrey Blue card base. I added the extra little banner in Doll Pink card using one of the sentiments in The Big, The Bold & Party to stamp in Versamark and white heat embossed. The tag is strung with a little ribbon scrap and more of the American Crafts twine :D

I hope you get the chance to look over the new Winnie & Walter release. You can find the new products at both Winnie & Walter and Simon Says Stamp.
