I’m back with another Winnie & Walter project today helping to celebrate their 1st birthday and also the new January release :D I think you need to be hiding in a cave if you’ve not seen the recent gold trend and from accounts coming out of CHA then that trend is still in full force! I also noticed lots of script wording on vellum and transparent elements and the The Big, The Bold and Party set is perfect for this! I stamped the large birthday sentiment from the set with Versamark on vellum and gold heat embossed before trimming around the edge with a small border. Vellum is so forgiving when trimming out – love that!
The February Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp came with some Crate Paper rub ons and using those reminded me how you can get such great, quick and easy wow factor with them. I recently bought a bunch of Teresa Collins Nine & Co including the matching rub ons. I layered a couple of strips of the 6×6 paper pad on a Neenah card base and then added one of the floral rub ons over the top. The gold vellum birthday just shone with the bright colours behind it :D I added a few of the sequins that Winnie & Walter sent out with the new sets (always a nice surprise to get a little extra prettiness in a parcel) and finally stamped one of the accompanying small sentiments in black.
I created a little tag too! This uses the Sparkle set (free with qualifying purchase) along with the gorgeous cupcake from the Sugar Rush set :D To start I stamped the cupcake in Memento Tuxedo Black on a white tag cut with one of the Large Tags from Simon Says Stamp and also on some of the Teresa Collins Nine & Co paper. The cupcake topping is coloured with Copics before trimming out the paper case to complete the cake.
I don’t know if you do this, but we sometimes add a sparkler to a birthday cake instead of a candle, so I stamped the sparkler image from the Sparkle set in Versamark and silver heat embossed then stamped the sparkle image (so many sparkles going on!) and heat embossed that in gold. I also added a few of the star burst images around too with gold heat embossing. While I had all my embossing tools out I gold heat embossed the ‘sparkle’ sentiment in gold on vellum and trimmed out adding it over a Nine & Co heart rub on. Finally I stamped the coordinating sentiment in black, added Platinum stickles to some of the sparkly bits and Star Dust stickles to the cake topping. Finally, finally a few more of those sequins and a little Lawn Fawn twine. Phew!! The card was quick CAS but there’s a lot of details packed into this little tag LOL.
