A super quick share today but I couldn’t resist playing with those kites again from the Soaring For You set from Simon Says Stamp! I stamped the sentiment and then the kite tails and kites all in Versamark and sprinkled with Gold embossing powder then heat set them in one go. The panel is the textured side of Distress Water Colour card so my embossing isn’t perfect but perhaps it sort of matches the loose watercoloring ;) I used the wet-on-wet watercolour technique of adding water to the image first before picking up Distress Inks on a brush and adding to the image, letting the water do the work of blending. I used Dried Marigold and Worn Lipstick for the kites and Broken China for the sky. I did go back in once the first layer was dry and add a little more detail into the kites.
The ‘Happy Valentines’ banner is again stamped and embossed on watercolour card and then cut out with the matching My Heart Soars die. I think this banner is supposed to trail behind the little plane in the set but I liked the way it tucked in around the panel edge and allowed for a sequin to be tucked in too :D Oh and I added a tiny heart cut from the kite image in the die set and added that to one of the kites. The panel is mounted on a top folding Neenah card base.
A quick and simple card again today. This looks better in real life I think than photographed but I wanted to share it as I love watercolours. I’m back tomorrow with a fun post over on Simon’s blog. See you then and I hope you enjoy bringing in the New Year!

Stunning card!!!
Just lovely! I think gold heat embossing and watercoloring is what got me started in card making many, many years ago. I love your shading!
Very soft, gentle card, Debby. It shows off the kites and the message so sweetly. You must be a very gentle soul.
So very beautiful :-)
Love the look! Happy new year, Debby!
Beautiful card! I love the gold embossing!
