How you doin’? Are you hearing Joey’s catchphrase from the sitcom Friends? I was when I was tidying up and adding the Simply Said Hello set from Avery Elle to their plastic envelopes I like to use and that sentiment just grabbed me and I was transported back to the 90s! It was fate that as I continued to tidy up I came across the Lawn Fawn Winter Penguin set and that little guy strutting his stuff on the ice could just be saying ‘How you doing’?’.

The penguin is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Neenah solar white card and coloured with Copics before cutting out with it’s matching die. Then I used the Stitched Slopes and Hills dies from Simon Says Stamp to cut a snowy bank. For the icy pond I used an oval from Trees and Trunks but before die cutting I applied a light layer of Broken China Distress Ink then die cut out the oval and replaced it with more of the Neenah Solar White card. I stamped the heart trail on the pond and then at this point I decided to add another snowy slope behind the scene.

The various layers were foam mounted on a Lawn Fawn patterned paper panel then the sentiment from Simply Said Hello was stamped in black and on a Talk Bubbles 2 die cut and also foam mounted. I coloured some scrap card with a red Copic and then die cut hearts with the Holiday Shapes dies to finish the scene of this loved up little guy. A couple of sequins added to the icy feel and then for shimmer and shine the hearts and skates were coated with Glossy Accents and the scarf with Zig wink of Stella clear glitter pen. Finally the panel was added to a top folding white card base.
