The December Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp comes with a beautiful array of winter blue and grey card stock. I really wanted to make a card which utilised the colours and contemplated a few cascading banners but then I started playing with the idea of strips of card around the edge of a circle which leaves a sort of camera shutter type effect. I’m sure there is a very precise way of doing this but I simply cut a ½ inch strip from each of the colours added glue around the back of a circle die cut from the 120lb white card from the kit and started laying down one colour over another. As each strip went down I trimmed any overlap from the panel edges and added more glue so that the next strip had something to adhere to. The layers of strips behind the circle were enough to raise the panel from a card base cut from the lovely silver card in the kit and I added a few pieces of foam adhesive around the rest of the edges. Before adhering though I stamped and heat embossed with the gorgeous Liquid Platinum the Sparkle and Shine sentiment on a piece of the vellum and popped that behind the opening in the circle.
A very clean and simple card and all I added were a couple of the fab gold and silver sequins from the kit. This is my third card from the kit and I have one more for you tomorrow! See you then :D
