I was tired the other night and the boys were watching football (yuck) so I thought a little colouring was in order :) I pulled out the Home for the Holidays set from Simon Says Stamp as I’d yet to get to those great trees. I coloured both the trees from the set, die cut them with their matching dies and then rubbed Glossy Accents over them and dumped them in Distress Glitter. The trunks were given a good dose of Wink of Stella glitter pen although that’s not showing in these photos. I planned on a cute critter kind of winter wonderland scene but when I was reaching for some patterned papers I came across this one with a map edge to it. The large tree seemed to fit really well with it so I cut a house from Slate card using one of the Village dies and added a frosty roof line. I think there’s a nice masculine vibe going on here with the stripes, map and neutral backdrop so I resisted adding piles of sequins or jewels to the tree. Instead I overlaid a banner stamped with the greeting from the Ornaments set in Slate ink, a lone glittery star and a twine bow.

Afterwards I did think that a glow coming from one of the windows would be nice but by then everything was well and truly stuck down LOL but I must remember that for the next time I reach for these Village dies :D

I hope you have a great crafty weekend!
