Tis the season of gift cards and cash! Well certainly for my older niece and nephew who are now part of the work force having just started their first jobs. I wouldn’t dream of trying to choose an actual present for them these days so I love having some money envelopes at the ready :D And what better way to bring a smile to their faces along with the £ than with the Ugly Sweater set from Simon Says Stamp! With flashbacks to Bridget Jones’ diary I think they will really get the ugly sweater craze and they wouldn’t be the only ones either as this set has proved to be really popular!
These envelopes are so easy! I wanted the colouring to really stand out so I cut the Gift Card Envelope from 120b Simon Says Stamp white card to give a sturdy quality feel and the perfect base for some rich Copic colouring. I stamped the sentiment from Sweater Words & Appliqués first to give the best spacing for the sweater from Ugly Sweater which is stamped in Memento tuxedo black along with the Santa image.
I spent some quality time with my Copics trying to get a good depth of colour with some smooth shading and then hit the accents – glossy accents for the holly, red stickles for the berries, wink of stella all over and finally a bit of white gel pen for the dots :D You can see all the sparkle and shine in this photo I snapped when I was making the envelope. You can find me over at Facebook, Twitter and Instagram where I share the odd peek and random photos :D
I coloured and accented the envelope before folding and sticking it together. I thought this one would be great for my nephew, so for my niece I went slightly more feminine with a deep pink backdrop to Rudolph (Sweater Words & Appliqués), added some star dust glitter to his antlers and instead of the white gel pen dots I added white enamel accents.
I love colouring with Copics and it just so happens that Simon Says Stamp are having a 25% off sale so grab them while you can :D

What a great idea for Christmas gift cards!
How cute! This is a wonderful idea:) Congrats to the winner!
Saw one of these on Instagram. Laughed out loud…my man asked what I was laughing at and so, because I’m a good wife, I showed him. Both of us looked at each other and said “Bridget Jones”. You really evoked that happy memory with these money holders. Thanks and congrats to your winner.
I think Colin wore his ugly sweater perfectly LOL. Strange that Colin Firth sticks in my head in a few of his roles ;) If you’ve not seen it the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice is a must :D
Those are so cute and they’re perfect for gift cards or cash. I had forgotten about Colin Firth’s awful jumper in the movie. I love both of those films.
Love Colin Firth!
Those enveloped are so adorable! Love your coloring and how you dressed up the sweaters! And congrats to the winner :)
