Oh yes, it’s time for the Cold Hands, Warm Heart release from Simon Says Stamp! And of course no new release is complete without a hop (you can start the hop at Simon’s blog if you’ve not already), but before I share my cards with you do you wanna take a little look? TA DA!
Happy squeals all round here :D Not only is there the usual fabulous array of stamps, dies and stencils but more inks, more embossing powders and more sequins! Simon knows how to make this girl happy :D So delving straight into the release I’ve got a couple of cards to share with you today.
Oh I love dies and I was so excited to see two of the die releases in particular. The Stitched Slopes and Hills dies are fabulous; cutting a smooth hill/snowy slope with a matching stitched accent :D Then there are those houses from the Village set; they make me happy! So to put this card together I cut the hill out of Fog card and then cut the houses and trees from Olive, Sea Glass, Burnt Orange and Sunshine. Two of the houses are adhered directly to the Neenah card base and then the final house and trees are placed on the back of the hill and then that layer mounted with foam adhesive.
The sentiment is from the STAMPtember Thanksgiving Table set, stamped in Slate onto the matching banner die cut from Thanksgiving Feast. Finally a few enamel dots and a little twine to finish.
For my next card I really wanted to colour these ice skates from the new Snow Gear set. I used to love to skate as a child and really enjoyed adding a little shading to these skates reminiscent of the ones I used to have – all those creases around the heal and the laces :D The skates are cut out with their matching Winter Gear die, the blades given a dose of glossy accents and then popped up over a lovely banner from Bundle of Stitched Shapes cut from patterned paper. You are going to see me using these dies a lot as you know how much I like little tags and banners :D The banner is accented with an Abby Snowflake with aqua enamel dot to match the patterned papers. Finally I partially stamped one of the sentiments from the Snow Gear set.
I really could just carry on showing you card after card because this release ticks so many boxes for me! However, you’d never complete the hop if I did that, so let’s get some hop details in before you go. Simon will be giving away a grab bag Prize Pack to one commenter on each stop of the hop. The giveaway closes at 1:00pm EST on Friday, October 10, 2014 and Simon will email the winners and then list them on the Simon blog.
Now it’s time to hoppity hop on over to see the sweet as can be and totally fabulous
Lucy Abrams!
I can’t wait to see what she’s made. Have fun and don’t forget to check out the full Cold Hands, Warm Heart release when you are done hopping!
