I think my Postie knows what projects I have up and coming and plans my parcel delivery accordingly! I’d just received the new Simon Says Stamp/Tim Holtz exclusive STAMPtember set when I sat down to make my project for this week’s CASE Study challenge and was struck by how the rosette from the set was reminiscent of the dreamcatcher from the inspiration:
I took the same colours used in the original with the white embossing on kraft and to create the same dimension from the feathers I pieced the rosette so that the ribbon tails were curled back from the tag. To do this I stamped the rosette three times with Versamark and white heat embossed each. I cut the Rounded Tag from the first stamping, the whole rosette from the second and just the circle element from the third and then layered them up with foam adhesive. I ran the ribbon tails through my fingers with an upward sweeping motion to curl those ends a little. The sentiment is part of the original stamped image but I’d cut my tag so that it was just the rosette, so I stamped the sentiment on vellum, white heat embossed and then die cut out with the banner from the Thanksgiving set. I hid a few tiny pieces of clear foam adhesive behind some of the lettering and then attached it over the rosette.
This Limited Edition Tim Holtz set is exclusive to Simon Says Stamp and is only available during STAMPtember so you better be quick if you want to pop one in your basket before the end of the month! Once they are gone, they are gone!
Please pop by the CASE Study blog and see what the team has created and if you have time to join in this week I’d love to see what you make :D
