We are back into the swing of things at Clearly Besotted now the schools are back and being the 10th of the month that means a challenge! This month the theme is autumn/Halloween which is obviously perfect for the time of year. I love the little tree/branch from the new Woodland Pals set and knew I wanted to use it for this theme. I tried inking it in different ways – direct to the stamp with Distress Markers, inking individual leaves in different colours but ultimately, the clean-and-simple girl that I am, preferred the trees stamped in a single colour. I used Lipstick Red, Dark Chocolate and Sunshine inks onto Neenah solar white and then the matching die to cut the three trees out. The simple, colourful graphic shape makes me happy :D
To create a little scene for the trees I die cut some Lawn Fawn patterned paper with the Tree Landscape die and snipped away the little trees which get cut with it so that I was left with a lovely sweeping hillside. I cut another hill from vellum white heat embossed the fabulous sentiment from Autumn Flowers and overlaid the vellum on the paper hill. On a side note I used the new Simon Says Stamp fine detail white embossing powder for this card and I was really impressed; even though this sentiment has some small lettering the embossing came out perfectly. Back to the card and I was thinking that the vellum gave a sort of muted dew effect to the morning grass. Then I tucked the trees, two behind and one on top of the vellum layer. Finally I scattered a few enamel dots around (leaves/mushrooms perhaps) and then layered the hill over some more patterned paper on a white card base.
I hope you get the chance to join in with the challenge this month and if you’ve not seen the new release you can find it in full here at Clearly Besotted and these ones are available at Simon Says Stamp :D
